NCIN Funding Organisations

As one of the commitments in the NHS Cancer Reform Strategy for England, the bulk of the funding for NCIN comes from the Department of Health.

The NHS National Cancer Action Team (NCAT) provides the financial and personnel hosting for the NCIN, through London SHA. The NCIN and NCAT have a close working relationship, including shared posts and projects.

Cancer Research UK fund one of the key posts in the NCIN Coordinating Team, focussing on Clinical Outcomes. The NCIN fund a CR-UK Information Analyst to work across CR-UK and NCIN

The MRC and NCRI co-fund a post in the NCIN coordinating team to work on areas of data and information governance, and to ensure the information resources available in the NCIN are made available under appropriate structures, to the research community.

Working closely with the Thames Cancer Registry, MacMillan have co-funded the analytical and statistical work to produce detailed estimates of cancer prevalence.
