Macmillan-NCRAS Work Plan: Understanding the cancer survivorship population

The National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service (NCRAS) and Macmillan Cancer Support are working in partnership and support a programme to develop a better understanding of people living with cancer and patient care pathways.

We continue to work on a number of Macmillan-NCRAS partnership projects, including the UK Cancer Prevalence Project and others in our Work Plan.

We have presented posters at the NCIN Cancer Outcomes Conference (June 2014) and at an international conference hosted in Italy by the European Network of Cancer Registries (November 2014) on 20-year UK cancer prevalence in (i) the older population, and (ii) children, teenagers and young adults.

Macmillan-NCRAS Releases

We have published a number of press releases, posters and data releases relating to the Macmillan-NCRAS UK Cancer Prevalence Project.

Background to the Macmillan-NCRAS Work Plan

This provides an overview of the rationale, development and detail of the Macmillan-NCRAS Work Plan.

The UK Cancer Prevalence Project

The UK Cancer Prevalence Project comprises a number of phases, with the initial phase relating to a December 2013 data release of UK cancer prevalence for all cancers combined (excluding non-melanoma skin cancer). Subsequent phases include looking at extra parameters and cancer types, and are currently in progress.
