Release of UK Cancer Information Service (UKCIS)
UK | 2006 | Incidence, mortality and survival
A new version of NCIS will be released to include data for the UK for the first time and it's name will change to UKCIS. This invaluable database, accessible to NHS staff through cancer registries, will contain incidence, mortality and survival data. UKCIS will be updated during 2010 to include 2007 incidence data.
Release of Updated Cancer e-Atlas

This updated version of e-Atlas will be more user friendly and will contain more up to date data including incidence and mortality for 2006. The new e-Atlas will also contain data with set age-parameters for the first time. A UK version of the cancer e-Atlas will be released during 2010 and will also include data for 2007.
Cancer Commissioning Toolkit update
The next update to the Cancer Commissioning Toolkit will take place in early January.

UK Cancer Prevalence

Analysis to be undertaken by Thames Cancer Registry with funding from Macmillan Cancer Support
This joint piece of work with Thames Cancer Registry and Macmillan Cancer Support will extend the existing prevalence estimates by cancer network to cover the whole UK and also provide new estimates for 10 yr cancer prevalence. Alongside the release of this report will also be a cancer prevalence e-Atlas, further enhancing the ease of access to cancer data.
Utilisation of Curative Surgery

The latest national analysis from NCIN will present percentages of patients in England that have received curative surgery, split by age, cancer network and deprivation quintile for 14 major cancer sites or groups.
UK Survival Trends (1 and 5 years)

Analysis to be conducted in collaboration with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
One year and five year cancer survival trends will be presented by cancer network for the whole of the UK. This piece of work is produced in conjunction with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Cancer Incidence and Mortality update

This updated report, following on from the first UK publication on cancer incidence and mortality by cancer network in 2005, will contain more sites and the most recent data available showing the differences in cancer rates across the UK.
Progress on Cancer Mortality Targets

Analysis to be conducted by South West Public Health Observatory
How is progress being made against the government's cancer mortality targets? This report will show trends and rates by cancer network, PCT's and SHA's across England and whether they are on course to reduce mortality from cancer to the required levels.
