Understanding Cancer E-learning: Introduction
The development of an e-learning programme is aimed primarily at MDT Co-ordinators and Cancer Registration staff. It covers an easy to understand overview of how cancer services are organised in the NHS as well as information about diagnosis, treatments and cancers by tumour site. Other staff groups may also find this training useful to improve their knowledge of the different cancer types.
Each module has been developed and reviewed by clinical experts in the field and the course has been approved by the Institute of Healthcare Management (IHM).
Read more about the background to the project.
Modules are divided into three principle sections
Learners can pick and choose which modules they want to cover, depending on their existing level of knowledge and type of job they do. For example someone starting a role as an MDT co-ordinator may want to cover all the modules in section 1 and 2 and then select the module in section 3 which relates to the MDT(s) they work with.
