MDTs (Multi Disciplinary Teams)

Multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) are made up of a variety of expert health care professionals who have specialised knowledge and training in specific cancers. The teams meet regularly to discuss individual cases and to plan the best course of treatment for the patient. MDTs improve communication and decision making, improve waiting times and patient care. The following pages contain information on MDT training and development in which the NCIN, in collaboration with the NCAT, has a strong involvement.
