Details

NCAAG, supported by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP), has made recommendations, accepted by the Department of Health on the detection and management of outliers identified through national clinical audits.

The recommendations are now published as guidance and set out how potentially outlying performance can be identified and develops a framework for national clinical audits to use in engaging provider organisations.

The guidance also sets out the procedures to be followed should a national clinical audit identify an NHS organisation with apparently poor performance and details the actions needed, who should take them, and when.
