Presentation from Breast SSCRG meeting - 2010 - Best practice diagnostic guidelines for patients presenting with breast symptoms - Martin Lee
Nationally, the NHS is achieving the two week wait (2WW) symptomatic breast standard but some organisations are continuing to find it challenging to meet or sustain performance in this area. These tips are based on good practice taking place within Trusts, PCTs and cancer networks across the NHS
Agenda from the Best practice in recording stage event.
Charts and tables for the report presenting one-year and five-year age-standardised net survival estimates (see background note 3) for the 28 Cancer Networks of England, for patients who were diagnosed with a cancer of the oesophagus, stomach, colon, lung, breast (women) or cervix during 1996–2009 and followed up to 31 December 2010. One-year survival estimates are reported for patients diagnosed in 1996, 2001, 2005 and 2009, and five-year survival for those diagnosed in 1996, 2001 and 2005.
CUP accounts for 3.3% of all newly diagnosed cancers in the UK, and 7.1% in those aged 85+. Incidence rates have fallen by around 40% since the mid 1990s due to improved registration practice and advances in diagnostic methods. Further analyses are needed to improve diagnosis and treatment for these patients.

GP Practice Profiles for Cancer for Bath and North East Somerset PCT, July 2012. The General Practice Profiles for Cancer have been produced by the National Cancer Intelligence Network (NCIN) and give information about key indicators relating to cancer services for most GP practices in England. They are intended to help GP practices think about the services they offer to their patients, in particular those services related to recognising symptoms and diagnosing cancer earlier. Profiles are available as a single file for each PCT in England. GP Practice Profiles - July 2012 - South West
