The national report provides insights into the care experienced by cancer patients across England who were treated as day cases or inpatients during the first three months of 2010. 158 NHS Trusts providing cancer services identified patients and 67,713 patients chose to respond.
The Department of Health and NCIN have published a Cancer Intelligence Framework. This sets out what we have committed to doing and aspirations for the future. The aim is to make our cancer intelligence services truly world class and to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
This report – the first of its kind – describes the findings of the National Audit of Cancer Diagnosis in Primary Care, undertaken in 2009/2010 as part of the National Awareness and Early Diagnosis Initiative.
