Collection, analysis and publication of high quality national data on clinical outcomes...
The NCIN is part of the National Cancer Research Network (NCRI) and is funded by the NHS and NCRI partners. |
Initiated by the National Cancer Research Institute, and identified as a key deliverable within the NHS Cancer Reform Strategy for England, the NCIN is leading in the “cancer data pathway”, from collection, through to linkage and information delivery.
The NCIN is being developed through a small central NCIN Coordinating Team based within the NCRI in London
The NCIN Core Objectives are:
- Promoting efficient and effective data collection throughout the cancer journey - Providing a common national repository for cancer datasets - Enabling use of cancer information to support audit and research programmes

NCIN brings together national NHS cancer organisations, cancer registries, clinical champions, health service researchers and a range of other interested parties (including the Office for National Statistics; National Clinical Audit Support Programme; NHS Information Centre) under the auspices of the NCRI. |
